The genre for January was a historical fiction book. We read “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. Based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals—in which Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country—Lisa Wingate’s riveting, wrenching, and ultimately uplifting tale reminds us how, even though the paths we take can lead to many places, the heart never forgets where we belong.
Our book club met on January 9th to kick off a new year of reading. We discussed a heavy-hitting book and then switched over to watch the Irish win the Orange Bowl to head to the CHAMPIONSHIP! We had a great group of 10 and enjoyed a baked potato bar as well as lots of yummy treats. Thank you to Lynn for hosting us!
