JOIN THE BOARD

Interested in being a class rep, volunteering or serving on the Club Board? We are always looking for Belles to get involved! With over 2,000 alumnae, the SMC Chicago East Alumnae Club is the oldest, largest and most active alumnae club for Saint Mary's College and focuses on alumnae in the downtown Chicago area.

Working on the club board is a great way to connect and network with Belles in the city, gain leadership experience and give back to your Chicago community. And it looks fantastic on your resume!

You can join the board as a general board member or for a more specific role.

Open Roles:

  • General Board Member - Join the Club Board as a general board member where you can help out with any and all Club initiatives. Our general board members stay up to date with Club initiatives and help out as they are able. General board members commit to leading TWO events per year AND commit to helping out with at least ONE of our big three events (Spring Spirits, Student Send Off or Founders Day). Check out our past events for more info on what the Club organizes each year.

  • Social Media Chair - Are you passionate about graphic design, Instagram and spreading Club news? We are looking for someone to help with our Instagram account! We have a Canva premium account which gives you access to tons of templates for posts and video reels. Help us spread the news on Club events with fun graphics! Check out our Instagram account to see some of our past posts.

  • Community Service Chair - Are you passionate about giving back to our local Chicago community or women’s causes? Volunteer as our Community Service Chair to help us work with local Chicago organizations to arrange in-person and virtual service events. Past service events include a day of service at the El Arbol Free Store, a supply drive and packing party for the Period Collective, making dinner at Lincoln Park Community Services and clearing the wish lists of teacher Belles.

  • Email Newsletter Chair - Do you enjoy putting together fun recaps, communicating upcoming events and formatting a newsletter? Volunteer as our Email Newsletter chair to help us put together a monthly newsletter to communicate upcoming events and event recaps to our club members. We have a paid subscription to MailChimp to manage our email list and create an easy newsletter template.

  • Membership Chair - Help us encourage Belles to join the club as active members! Volunteer to assist with dues outreach to remind Belles to pay their annual dues and help coordinate outreach to new grads to inform them about the Club and encourage them to join as (free!) active members.
