For February we read a memoir and selected LOVELY ONE by Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman to ever be appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States. With this unflinching account, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, named “Ketanji Onyika,” meaning “Lovely One,” invites readers into her life and world, tracing her family’s ascent from segregation to her confirmation on America’s highest court within the span of one generation.
Our book club met on February 5th for an early Galentine’s celebration and to discuss a fascinating book. While the book was hard to read at some points, we all enjoyed learning about Ketanji’s family background, education and journey to the Supreme Court. We had white chicken chili for dinner and the cutest heart shaped waffle bar for dessert. Thank you to Annie ‘20 for hosting!
